Introduction

The Printers list displays all printers onboarded to WXP and provides a centralized view of your printer fleet. This article explains how to view printer details, onboard printers, and customize, search, and filter the Printers list.

This article provides a step-by-step guide to:

Target Audience

  • IT administrators who onboard and manage printers.

  • Printer Administrators who onboard and manage printers.

View the Printers List

The Printers tab displays a list of all printers, both cloud-connected and Print Fleet Proxy-connected, currently onboarded to WXP for your organization.

To view the Printers list, in the left navigation, click Devices > Printers, then click the Printers tab at the top of the screen.

The Printers list can display a considerable amount of information about each printer in your fleet. For example, you can determine a lot of information about your fleet at a glance. For example, you can quickly view which printers are online or offline.

From the Printers list, you can:

  • Onboard new printers to be managed by WXP.

  • Access the Printer Details page for a specific printer to view general information, configure printer settings, or create a printer-specific policy.

  • Create printer group rules to automatically organize printers as they are onboarded. You can also access this from the Printers tab of the Groups screen.

Customizing the Printers List

WXP collects a wide range of printer properties, many of which can be displayed in its own column in the Printers list. When managing your printer fleet, if you find some columns less valuable than others, you can choose not to display them to reduce clutter in the list.

To modify which columns appear in the Printers list:

  1. At the top right of the Printers list, click . The Column Options dialog appears.

  2. Select or unselect columns as necessary.

  3. If necessary, click Reset to Default, to restore the table columns.

  4. Click Save.

Searching for Printers

The Search field allows you to search for a specific printer in the list.

To search for a print, type a search string in the Search field and press Enter.

You can search on any identifying information: the Printer Name, Model, Location, etc. You can enter full or partial strings. WXP begins filtering the list contents as you type.

Filtering the Printers in the Printers List

WXP lets you filter on several printers, constraining the printers listed to those that match your filter criteria. Currently, you can filter on the values like the Connectivity, Security Assessment, and Status properties.

To filter the Printers list:

  1. At the top of the Printer list, click Filter. The Filter pane appears on the right of the window.

  2. Under the printer property, select the value you want to filter on.

  3. Optionally, select values for additional properties to further constrain the list.

  4. Close the filter panel. The table contents is updated based on your selected filter criteria. Additionally, the selected filter criteria are displayed above the table.

  5. To remove filter criteria, delete the unwanted filter from those displayed above the table.
