Introduction
In the HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP), users can connect printers in two ways:
- Cloud-connected – printers directly linked through the cloud.
- Print Fleet Proxy–connected – printers linked through a Print Fleet Proxy on a Web Jetadmin server.
The steps to remove a printer from WXP depend on its connection type.
This guide explains how to:
- Remove cloud-connected printers.
- Remove Print Fleet Proxy–connected printers.
Target Audience
- IT administrators who onboard and manage printers.
- Printer administrators who onboard and manage printers.
Prerequisites
- You have an HP account and have access to the WXP platform.
- You are an existing HP Web Jetadmin customer (required for removing Print Fleet Proxy–connected printers)
Removing Cloud-Connected Printers
You can remove a cloud-connected printer by deleting it from the Pending Printers list.
-
Deleting a printer with a Connected status removes a fully onboarded printer from WXP. The printer is removed from both the Printers tab and the Pending Printers tab.
-
Deleting a printer with a status of Error or Action needed removes it only from the Pending Printers tab.
To remove a printer from the Pending Printers list
- Sign in to WXP.
- In the left menu, select Devices > Printers, and then select the Pending Printers tab.
- In the list, select one or more printers. The Delete button appears above the list.
- Click Delete.
- When prompted, click Delete again to confirm the removal of the printer(s) from WXP.

Removing Print Fleet Proxy–Connected Printers
The Print Fleet Proxy serves as a bridge between WXP and the Web Jetadmin server.
Currently, you can’t remove an individual proxy-connected printer directly from WXP. To remove it, delete the printer from the device list in Web Jetadmin.
When the Print Fleet Proxy performs the next data synchronization, WXP automatically applies the change and removes the printer from the Printers list.
To delete a printer from a Web Jetadmin device list.
- Sign in to the Web Jetadmin server.
- From the left navigation pane, access any device list.
- In the device list, highlight one or more printers to delete, and then right-click to select Delete.
- Select one of the following options:
- Hide: Removes the printer from the device list but saves historical and task data. The system rediscovers the printer during the next discovery cycle.
- Delete: Removes the printer from the device list along with the historical and task data. The system rediscovers the printer during the next discovery cycle.
- Delete and Block: Removes the printer from the device list along with the historical and task data. The system adds the printer to the Blocked devices list to prevent rediscovery.
- Click OK.
