Identifying Managed vs. Unmanaged Endpoints in WXP Collaboration

Prev Next

Introduction

Understanding whether an endpoint is managed or unmanaged helps administrators assess service coverage, troubleshoot configuration gaps, and ensure that all devices are monitored correctly in HOP WXP Collaboration application. Classifying endpoints allows you to determine the systems that are under centralized management and the ones that require additional setup or attention.

Tech Insights Analytics with WXP Collaboration classifies endpoints as:

  • Managed endpoints: These are devices managed by one of the following systems:

    • Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS)

    • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)

    • Polycom RealPresence Resource Manager (RPRM)

  • Unmanaged endpoints: These devices may include:

    • Internal Unmanaged:

      • Endpoints or aliases that are registered but not managed, such as endpoints registered to a VCS

      • Endpoints previously managed but no longer managed by CUCM, TMS, or another system

    • Other Unmanaged:

      • Any remaining unmanaged endpoints or aliases
