Introduction
Accurate device location is important for reporting, inventory alignment, site-level analytics, and operations such as troubleshooting and chargeback. In Zoom Phone, several location sources are available. For example, user, phone number, and device.
This article describes the location that the WXP Collaboration application uses from the Zoom Phone device to set the location in the Managed Endpoint dataset.
Location Sources in Zoom Phone
Zoom Phone master data provides three location sources, each with a Site ID and Site Name:
User: Site ID and Name
Phone Number: Site ID and Name
Device: Site ID and Name
Determining Device Location
For the Managed Endpoint dataset, WXP Collaboration uses the Device Site (Site ID and Site Name) associated with the Zoom Phone device. This value most accurately represents the endpoint’s assigned location and aligns consistently with device inventory and analytics views.
