Understanding Endpoint Connectivity Errors

Prev Next

Introduction

In Tech Insights Monitoring of HP , an Endpoint Connectivity status of "NoMessages" and an EPM Error message of "Updated by Server" indicate the same condition.

These messages indicate that the Endpoint Monitor (EPM) has not received any data from the endpoint during the last 10 minutes. This indicates a loss of connectivity between the endpoint and the Endpoint Monitor.

When either or both messages appear, you should treat them as a connectivity issue between the endpoint and the Endpoint Monitor.

You should begin troubleshooting the issue from the Admin Portal of the WXP Collaboration application

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Log in to the Admin Portal of the WXP Collaboration application.

  2. Verify that the endpoint credentials are correctly configured.

  3. Check the authentication column for the endpoint.

  4. If an "X" appears under the authentication column, credentials are missing. In this case, the Endpoint Monitor does not attempt to connect to the endpoint.

  5. Update the endpoint configuration with the correct credentials, if required.

In addition to verifying credentials, try to access the endpoint web interface using a web browser (or curl on Linux systems).

Note: Use the same credentials stored in the Admin Portal of WXP Collaboration application to confirm that you can successfully log in to the endpoint.
