Introduction
This article explains why the WXP Collaboration Daily System Report flags an expired certificate on a CUBE device and outlines the steps and impact of updating the certificate to restore secure data collection.
Problem Description:
The WXP Collaboration Daily System Report has identified that I have an expired certificate on a CUBE device.
WXP Collaboration collects data from a CUBE via multiple mechanisms: the primary data path is via SNMP, but there is a secondary data path that utilises a TLS connection, which is secured by a certificate installed on the CUBE that has expired.
Impact
Whilst this impacts the secondary collection path, SNMP is delivered over UDP, which may be less reliable in some network environments. It is therefore important to ensure that the secondary path is maintained as a confirmatory mechanism for your data.
Resolution
For information on updating this certificate, please consult the relevant Cisco documentation or raise a TAC request with Cisco if assistance is required.
