WXP Collaboration Admin Portal Showing Error Status for CUBE Infrastructure

Prev Next

Introduction

The HP WXP Collaboration > Admin Portal may sometimes display an Error status for a CUBE infrastructure. This status usually indicates that the data collector cannot successfully monitor the CUBE. Administrators should first validate connectivity between the data collector and the CUBE to determine the root cause of the issue.

Validating CUBE Connectivity

If the Admin Portal shows an Error status for your CUBE infrastructure, first confirm that the CUBE is reachable from the data collector.

  1. Log in to the Admin Portal of WXP Collaboration.

  2. Locate the CUBE infrastructure entry.

  3. Click the validation checkmark to run the connectivity validation.

  4. The validation verifies that the data collector can successfully communicate with the CUBE.

Understanding the Error Status

If the validation is successful but the CUBE status still displays an Error state, the issue may be related to the available peers configured on the CUBE.

The monitoring status appears as an error when there are no non-multicast peers available in the CUBE configuration. The WXP Collaboration data collector can only monitor CUBE infrastructure when at least one non-multicast peer is available.

Resolution

To resolve this issue,  one of the following options can be attempted:

  • Disable monitoring for the CUBE infrastructure in the Admin Portal.

  • Add a non-multicast peer to the CUBE so that the data collector can monitor it successfully.
