Introduction
Manual uninstallation may be necessary when automated methods, such as System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Group Policy, or bulk removal tools, are not available or applicable. This method is also useful for troubleshooting, device repurposing, or when offboarding individual systems from HP Insights services.
This article provides guidance to both uninstalling the HP Insights Windows Application (also referred to as Windows Agent) and unenrolling the device from HP Insights.
Unenrolling HP Insights Windows Application
To manually uninstall the HP Insights Windows agent:
Click the Windows Search icon, type Control Panel and click to open.
Click the Uninstall a program subcategory under the Programs category.
Locate and click HP Insights, then click Uninstall.
From the Uninstall wizard, click Remove. A popup window will open to confirm the uninstall process by pressing the Unenroll option at the bottom right corner of the window. The wizard will uninstall and unenroll the device from any HP Insights services it was enrolled in.
When the dialog displays Uninstall complete, click Close to exit the uninstall wizard.
Note:
If your device has HP Active Care and is a G10 model or newer, please click here for the correct unenrollment procedure and return to follow these uninstallation steps.
For the client devices to unenroll successfully, the devices must be connected to the internet.
Manually Uninstalling HP Insights Via Uninstallation Script
Manual uninstallation may be necessary when automated methods, such as System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Group Policy, or bulk removal tools, are not available or applicable.
Download the Uninstallation PowerShell script from here.
Extract the uninstall script and be sure the script file is saved to a location accessible by Intune and SCCM.
