Introduction

Manual uninstallation is typically required when automated tools like Jamf Pro are not available or when troubleshooting individual devices. The process involves running a script from the terminal to fully remove the MacClient from the system.

This article provides guidance to uninstall macOS application.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure the device is connected to the internet

  • The uninstall script is present in the expected directory.

Manually Uninstalling macOS Application

After ensuring the devices are connected to the Internet, follow the steps below to manually uninstall the macOS application.

  1. Verify the uninstall_daas script can be found on the user's device at /usr/local/share.

    • If the uninstall_daas script file is not present in the user's directory, please reinstall the latest client and try again.

  2. Open the terminal console, type sudo bash, and enter one's administrator password.

  3. Type Sudo sh  /path_to_uninstall_daas_script and enter.

The uninstall_daas script will run and the MacClient will be removed from the machine.
