Introduction
The Pending Printers tab displays recently added cloud-connected printers. When you add cloud-connected printers to your WXP account, they initially appear in the Pending Printers list, with the date they were added and their corresponding status.
Pending printers can have one of the following status values:
Connected: The printer was successfully registered and onboarded. Connected printers remain in the Pending Printers list, but once connected, they are immediately available in the Printers tab.
Error: The printer could not be onboarded due to an error. There are a few reasons an error may occur: the product number or serial number may be incorrect, or the printer might already be connected to another account.
Action Needed: The printer could not be onboarded because the HP cloud connection (web services) is not yet enabled.
Target Audience

To view the Pending Printers list, in the left navigation, click Devices > Printers, then click the Pending Printers tab.

Remediating onboarding issues
If an added printer is listed with a status of Action needed, then the printer is not connected to the HP cloud. This means that although WXP can locate the printer on the Internet, it cannot communicate with the device, which it needs to do to complete the onboarding process.
To remediate the issue so the printer can be fully onboarded, you’ll need to enable HP cloud connection (referred to as web services on some printers) on the printer. You can enable this setting in two ways:
Manually, on a single printer, either on the printer control panel or via the printer’s embedded web server (EWS), which you can connect to through your browser.
The steps required to complete this task differ between different printer models/series. To assist you, HP has created a master document to guide you to the correct instructions.
For more information, see Enabling HP cloud connection/web services on HP printers. This guide lists groups of printers by model so you can quickly scan and locate your printer and access a link to the appropriate instructions.Via the MPS Printer Onboarding tool. This tool allows you to specify a group of printers, either by uploading a CSV file with the hostnames or IP addresses or by specifying a range of IP addresses. After you specify the printers, the tool attempts to connect to the devices and enable HP cloud connection/web services.
