Classification of Bridge Call Quality as Good, Fair, and Bad

Prev Next

Introduction

Bridge call quality helps administrators understand how packet loss and jitter affect user experience during multiparty calls. HP WXP Collaboration classifies bridge calls as Good, Fair, or Bad. This feature allows you to evaluate service performance, identify trends, and troubleshoot issues that may affect call reliability.

Bridge Call Quality Thresholds

WXP Collaboration defines Bad quality as a level of interference from packet loss or jitter that is likely to be noticeable to users on an average hardware endpoint. Thresholds are based on input from manufacturers, user feedback, and analysis of large dataset available to WXP Collaboration.

Analyzing Bridge Call Quality

Analyze bridge call quality in the Issues tab of Tech Insights Analytics using the following two panels:

  • Bridge Participant Quality

  • Bridge Participant Quality Trend

Note: On these panels, you have several options for reviewing the data. For both quality charts, each of the quality values can be excluded or re-included by clicking on the respective legend entry.

Reviewing Trends

On these panels, you have several options for reviewing the data. For both quality charts mentioned above, each of the quality values can be excluded or re-included by clicking on the respective legend.

The Bridge Participant Quality Trend panel groups data based on the selected date range. For example, when viewing three months of data, you can group results by month, week, or day. Additional options, such as Quarter, appear when the date range is expanded.

You may include or exclude specific quality values by selecting the corresponding legend entry. When a category such as “Unknown” is removed, the panels update automatically.

Interactive Quality Pie Chart

The Bridge Participant Quality pie chart is interactive. To drill into any calls that for a particular bridge quality, you can click on that reason portion in the pie chart.

Selecting a quality segment, such as Bad section of the pie (shown in red), opens the Participants view within the Meetings tab, which shows all participants who experienced that quality level.
