Using Poly Lens

Introduction

Poly Lens is an Add-on feature in HP Workforce Experience (WXP) that connects your WXP tenant to a Poly Lens Cloud tenant. IT Administrators can then deploy, monitor, update, and troubleshoot collaboration devices and rooms directly in Poly Lens Cloud.

This article provides guidance to Add, Edit, and Disconnect Poly Lens Add-on feature.

Adding Poly Lens

Follow these steps to add Poly Lens:

  1. Log in to WXP as an IT Admin. The Home page is displayed.

  2. From the left menu of WXP, click Add-ons > Poly Lens.

  3. Click Connect. The Get started with Poly Lens workflow opens.

  4. Choose one of the following options and click Submit:

    1. Create a New Poly Lens Account

    2. Connect an Existing Poly Lens Account

Option A. Creating a New Poly Lens Account

  1. Select the option - Create a new Poly Lens account with my Workforce Experience credentials.

  2. Acknowledge the Poly Lens Terms and Conditions and review the HP Privacy Policy.

  3. Select Submit.

The new Poly Lens account is created. The tenant (account) name is based on the WXP tenant name.

Option B: Connecting an Existing Poly Lens Account

  1. Select the option - Connect my existing account.

  2. In the Tenant selection section, click the Poly Lens tenant (account) to connect.
    Note: Tenants that are already linked are not displayed.

  3. Select Submit to complete the connection on the Tenant Details page.
    Note: Only one Poly Lens tenant (account) can be linked to a single WXP tenant at a time.

  4. To confirm the connection, select the Poly Lens connection in the left navigation, to open the connected Poly Lens Cloud tenant.

A confirmation email is sent, indicating a Poly Lens license has been added.

Editing the Connected Poly Lens Tenant

Follow these steps update the connected Poly Lens tenant.

  1. From the left menu of WXP, click Settings (gear icon) > Preferences tab.

  2. On the Preferences tab, locate the Add-on Tenants and select Poly Lens.

  3. Click the edit option (pencil icon) to open the Edit Add-on Tenant window.

  4. From the Tenant dropdown, select a Poly Lens tenant.

  5. Select Connect.

  6. Refresh the browser to apply the update.

Selecting Poly Lens from the navigation menu now opens the newly connected tenant.

Disconnecting the Poly Lens Add-on

Follow these steps to remove the Poly Lens connection.

  1. From the left menu of WXP, click Settings (gear icon) > Preferences tab.

  2. On the Preferences tab, locate the Add-on Tenants and select Poly Lens.

  3. Click the Bin icon. The Disconnect tenant confirmation window appears.

  4. Click Disconnect.

A success message confirms the tenant was disconnected, and a confirmation email is sent. After disconnection:

  • Poly Lens no longer appears in the left navigation menu.

  • The Add-ons page displays the Connect option again.

Troubleshooting Add‑on Connection Issues

Connection Error: Poly Lens connection is broken

Symptom: When accessing the Poly Lens add‑on from HP Workforce Experience (WXP), the WXP IT Admin user encounters a connection failure and cannot load the linked Poly Lens tenant details. 

Error Message Connection Error: Poly Lens connection is broken - Disconnect and reconnect the account to fix the issue.
