Creating a Report in WXP Collaboration

Prev Next

Introduction

The Reports feature in HP WXP Collaboration shows the reports you create as “recurring exports,” also referred to as “shares.”  The Frequency selected for the report determines whether the report appears in the Reports tab.

This article explains how to create a report from any dashboard or dataset, choose a schedule and reporting period, select export formats, and manage reports in the Reports panel.

If you do not see anything listed, you have not created a recurring report yet.

Creating a Report

  1. Log in to WXP Collaboration application. The Home page is displayed.

  2. Go to Tech Insights Analytics, open the dashboard or dataset you want to report on.

  3. Select the Share or Export icon at the top-right of the page. A dialog opens to select you preferences, such as Delivery method, Export types, Frequency, and Reporting period.

  4. Choose the report frequency, which controls visibility in Reports.

    1. Select Daily, Weekly, or Monthly to create a recurring report, which will appears in the Reports tab.

    2. Select Once to send a one-time report. This report does not appear in the Reports tab.

      Note:

      • If you chose Daily, Weekly, or Monthly, the report is saved, scheduled, and will appear in the Reports tab.

      • If you chose Once, the report is generated immediately and will not appear in the Reports tab.

      • For Once and Daily reports, there is no selection to specify when to send the report, since the frequency defines this for you.

      • For Weekly reports, select the day(s) of the week you wish to generate and send the report.

      • For Monthly reports, select the date of the month on which you wish to send the report.

  5. Set the Reporting Period as Last 7 days (default), Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Previous week, and Previous month.

    1. You can mix frequency and period as needed. For example, create a daily report covering the last 30 days.

  6. Select one or more Export Options, such as Excel (.xlsx), CSV (.csv), and Report Link.

    1. By default, Excel and Report Link are selected.

Note: Report Link opens the same view in WXP Collaboration and requires the recipient to be a registered user. Non-registered recipients cannot open the view, but they can download attached files and see the email content.

  7. Configure email and delivery

    1. Enter Subject and Message. A default text is provided, which can be edited to suit your requirements.

    2. Add recipients in To. Use commas or semicolons between addresses.

Reports run at approximately 8:00 a.m. on the schedule you set.

  8. Click Send.
