Introduction
Smart Refresh is a beta feature available in the Labs module of the Workforce Experience Platform (WXP). It helps IT managers make smarter, data-driven decisions about replacing aging or underperforming PCs. It evaluates each device using nine performance indicators and summarizes them in a Refresh Urgency Score.
Smart Refresh guides you through three key steps:
- Identify: Each device receives a Refresh Urgency Score based on 9 key metrics. This helps you find devices that may soon affect productivity.
- Categorize: An AI model groups devices into hardware and software personas based on real usage patterns. These personas can help you choose the right type of replacement device.
- Recommend: If you work with an HP Partner, Smart Refresh recommends replacement devices based on:

If you don’t see any recommendations or if the list seems outdated, contact your partner and ask them to upload the latest catalog.

- Scenario: You want to replace only a few devices this quarter due to a limited budget. The usual policy of replacing any device over 5 years old isn’t feasible.
