Question
I have removed a peripheral from my endpoint. How do I stop alerts from being triggered?
Answer
When an endpoint detects that a peripheral has been connected, the status is held in the WXP Collaboration configuration. If that peripheral is removed, WXP Collaboration triggers any configured alerts to notify you that it is missing.
There are times, however, when a peripheral is intentionally removed, and alerts should not be generated. In these cases, once the peripheral has been removed, it should be deleted from the endpoint's configuration.
To do this in Tech Insights Analytics, go to Datasets -> Endpoints -> Inventory, then click the endpoint in question. Now, click on Edit Endpoint in the top right-hand
From within Tech Insights Monitoring, go to Datasets -> Endpoints, select the endpoint, then Edit Endpoint, as above.
In either case, a display similar to the one below will be shown

Click on the dustbin symbol to delete the peripheral. A warning will be shown as follows:

To display the updated endpoint information, you must re-display the endpoint; the configuration information will not be updated dynamically.
