Introduction

Component Inventory - Docking Station report provides IT administrators with a centralized view of docking stations across the device fleet. This is helpful to track firmware compliance, driver status, power adapter capability, and overall dock health. By understanding which docks are up to date and how they are performing,  you can proactively troubleshoot issues, maintain device reliability, and ensure users have a consistent docking experience.

Docking Stations by Model Name

The Docking Stations by Model Name donut chart provides an overview of the models used in the customer’s fleet. The donut chart shows:

  • The total number of docking stations in a customer's fleet.

  • The different docking station models, each represented by a different color.

Upon selecting a color, the page shows a details list that includes only the selected docking station model. For example, selecting USB-C Dock G5 displays a list that includes only USB-C Dock G5 devices.

When a user points to any color, an info box displays the model name and the number of devices.

Note: The legend identifies the color assigned to each model. Users can select or clear items in the legend to change which models appear in the chart.

Firmware Status

The Firmware Status donut chart provides information about the firmware state of docking stations. It  shows:

  • The number of devices.

  • The firmware status: Up to Date, Out of Date, or Unknown. Each status is displayed in a different color.

Hovering the mouse pointer to any color, an information box displays the number of devices with that status.

Click a firmware status segment to view a bar chart, which shows:

  • Number of docking stations in each firmware status in the X axis.

  • Docking station model numbers in the Y axis. Each firmware version is displayed in a different color.

Note: The legend identifies the firmware versions that appear in the bar chart. Users can select or clear items in the legend to customize the view.

When a user selects a specific firmware version for a model, the page displays a details list that includes only that model and that firmware version.

Note: The Firmware Status chart displays Up to Date or Out of Date for supported models, usually USB-C G5 docks or newer. If the firmware version cannot be detected, the status appears as Unknown.

Power Adapter Status

The Power Adapter Status bar chart shows the power behavior and compatibility of docking stations in the fleet.

The Power Adapter Status bar chart shows:

  • X-Axis: The different Power Adapter Statuses, such as:

    • Power adapter failed

    • Adapter meets PC requirements

    • PC running on battery

    • PC running at reduced performance

    • Adapter compatibility undetermined

  • Y-Axis: Docking station model numbers

Click on a docking station AC Adapter Status to view the details list for only that docking station model and that AC adapter status.

Hover the mouse pointer over any color, an information box shows the model name and the number of devices.

A graph of different colored bars AI-generated content may be incorrect.

Note:

  • Select or de-select items in the legend to customise the view in the chart.

  • After filtering, selecting a status in the chart displays a details list for only that docking station model and that status.

  • This functionality is supported for USB-C Dock G5 and newer models.

A graph with red and orange bars AI-generated content may be incorrect.
