URL Requirements for WXP Collaboration Cloud

Introduction

To enable the WXP Collaboration “data collector” and users to connect to the WXP Collaboration cloud, the following URLs must be accessible. Each entry includes the expected response and the purpose of the URL.

North America cloud

  1. https://login.wxpcollaboration.hp.com/

    1. Expected result: nginx 404 Not Found message

    2. Purpose: This is the user authentication portal. It is used for any user or service connecting to the WXP Collaboration Cloud. It is also used when your site uses a single sign-on (SSO) page. If this URL is blocked, users and services cannot connect to the cloud.

  2. https://my.wxpcollaboration.hp.com/

    1. Expected result: Login screen

    2. Purpose: This is the web application for Technology Insights Monitoring, Technology Insights Analytics, and Workspace Insights. It is required for all users who want to use the WXP Collaboration suite.

  3. https://api.vyopta.com/

    1. Expected result: nginx 401 Authorization Required message

    2. Purpose: This URL is used by data collectors to sign in to the platform and exchange information. Collectors fetch the list of systems and endpoints to monitor and send both real-time and historical data back to the cloud using authentication tokens.

  4. https://api.vyopta.com/galaxy-admin

    1. Expected response: Unauthorized

    2. Purpose: This is the message service that maintains active connections with collectors. It allows the Admin Portal to request validation commands and retrieve detailed information about collector state and health. The service runs ActiveMQ over HTTPS, which enables two-way communication without exposing collectors directly to the internet.

European Union cloud

  1. https://login.eu.wxpcollaboration.hp.com/

    1. Expected result: nginx 404 Not Found message

    2. Purpose: This is the user authentication portal for EU tenants. It supports users and services connecting to the WXP Collaboration Cloud, including those using SSO. If this URL is blocked, users and services cannot connect.

  2. https://my.eu.wxpcollaboration.hp.com/

    1. Expected result: Login screen

    2. Purpose: This is the EU web application for Technology Insights Monitoring, Technology Insights Analytics, and Workspace Insights. It is required for all EU users of the WXP Collaboration suite.

  3. https://api.eu.vyopta.com/

    1. Expected response: nginx 401 Authorization Required message

    2. Purpose: This API is used by collectors to authenticate and exchange information with the platform. Collectors fetch monitored systems and endpoints, and send real-time and historical data to receivers using authentication tokens.

  4. https://api.eu.vyopta.com/galaxy-admin

    1. Expected response: Unauthorized

    2. Purpose: This is the EU message service that allows continuous communication between collectors and the Admin Portal. It supports validation commands, health checks, and state reporting. It runs ActiveMQ over HTTPS to allow secure two-way communication without exposing collectors to the internet.
