Introduction

The Smart Refresh feature in HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) helps you make data-driven device upgrades that improve performance, lower costs, and align with your organizational goals. You can opt an HP-recommended strategy, select a strategy that focuses on performance or cost, or create a custom one. You can also select and manage product catalogs that contain the replacement models available to your organization.

Note: The available results depend on the device and telemetry data available in WXP.

Workflow: Accessing Smart RefreshSelecting Device Catalog →  Selecting a Pre-defined Refresh Strateg or Creating a Custom Strategy Saving the Strategy or Publishing the Strategy → Viewing Recommendations as per the Strategy

Step 1: Accessing Smart Refresh

  1. Log in to WXP. The Home page is displayed.

  2. From the left menu of WXP,  go to Labs and click Try Smart Refresh. A Smart Refresh dialog box is displayed.

  3. In the Smart Refresh dialog box, select the Refresh Country where new devices will be purchased

  4. Click Let’s get started.

The Smart Refresh strategy selection page is displayed. The selected country and product catalog appear near the top of the page.

The step 1 helps to ensures the replacement recommendations are localized to the selected country, and the available device models and SKUs reflect regional availability.

Step 2: Selecting a Device Catalog

Choose the device catalog that Smart Refresh will use when generating replacement recommendations.

You can:

  • Use the default catalog provided by HP (contains US SKUs only)

  • Select a previously uploaded catalog

  • Upload a new catalog containing custom device models and SKUs

Note: The default catalog contains U.S SKUs only. For the most accurate recommendations in non-U.S. regions, use a catalog containing SKUs available in the selected country.

Outcome: Smart Refresh uses the selected catalog to match eligible devices with replacement option.

Step 3: Selecting a Pre-defined Refresh Strategy to Customize
