Remote Connect: System and Network Requirements

Prev Next

Introduction

The Remote Connect feature of HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) enables an authorized IT user to access any device that is managed within WXP.

In addition to the standard WXP requirements, the Remote Connect feature has the following system requirements.

This feature is only available to beta customers with select plans of WXP.

In-Band Remote Connect (Beta)

Device Requirements:

  1. Both the Support Provider and Support Recipient devices must be on Windows.

  2. The device of Support Provider, such as IT admin, must have HP Anyware Client 25.10 or later installed. The latest software is available at https://workforceexperience.hp.com/software/

  3. The device of Support Recipient, such as employees, must have the WXP agent – HP Insights Plugin Package 1.0.23.0 or later installed. If HP Insights agent is set to automatic updates (default), the latest version installs automatically. If you use custom updates control, verify that the HP Insights plugin package meets the required version. For additional information about custom updates control, visit Managing Updates for HP Insights Agent.

Network Requirements

  1. Outbound Ports:

Both TCP and UDP protocols must be explicitly allowed for the ports listed in the below table:

Note:

  • Access to the corporate network is not needed for the use of Remote Connect.

  • If the Support Recipient is outside of the corporate network (at home or in a public network), port requirements above may not be needed, depending on their location.

  1. Access to HP’s Gateway addresses

We recommend opening traffic to all locations where users are located for the best experience, but limiting to only specific regions will not prevent the In-Band Remote Connect feature from functioning.
