Introduction

The HP Insights Health Checker is a utility that you can download and run on an HP system to solve issues that may prevent it from enrolling into the HP Premium and Premium+ Support (formerly, Active Care).

Download the HP Insights Health Checker from the software page on a system that has HP Premium and Premium+ Support but is unable to enroll. Then extract and run the .exe file. Once launched, the tool displays an overview of the system's information:

  1. Run Scan: Initiates a diagnostic scan. The status "Waiting" will change as the application runs.
  2. Collect Logs: Gathers data for HP to help troubleshoot issues.
  3. Help: Opens this article.
  4. Network Settings: Use this option if the system is behind proxy.

How It Works

Click Run Scan to start the HP Insights Health Checker. The tool performs the below checks to help diagnose and resolve issues that may be preventing enrollment:

  1. Time and Connectivity Verification
    1. Ensures your system is connected to the internet.
    2. Verifies that your system time is within plus or minus 5 minutes of the local internet time.
    3. Confirms that your system can connect to HP services. If it cannot, a link to this article will be provided.

Note: Firewall or proxy issues cannot be resolved by the HP Insights Health Checker. These must be addressed by your IT department or internet provider. This article includes all the necessary information to assist them..

  1. Eligibility Verification
  • Checks if your system is eligible for HP Premium and Premium+ Support. Eligibility depends on Care Pack registration and whether the device is imported into the service.
  • If eligibility cannot be verified, the tool provides a link to an article with instructions to check your system’s service level. If your device is not covered, the article includes guidance on how to contact HP Care Pack Support.

  1. Installation Verification
Validates that the required software is available, can be downloaded and installed, and that enrollment is successful.
    • If successful, the status will update to "Enrolled", indicating your system is now active in the service.
    • If unsuccessful, click Report Incident to submit a case. HP Support will reach out via email with further assistance.
