Not Seeing Data for an Infrastructure in Tech Insights Monitoring

Prev Next

Introduction

After integrating with a new infrastructure , data may not appear immediately in Tech Insights Monitoring of HP WXP Collaboration application. In many cases, this behavior occurs as the infrastructure is not enabled, and therefore data collection does not happen.

For example, in the screenshot below, two devices (ISDN Gateway and Production TCS) are shown as not enabled. When a infrastructure is not enabled, the Data Collector does not collect data on it for processing in Tech Insights Monitoring and Tech Insights Analytics.

To enable data collection on an infrastructure:

  1. Log in to the Admin Portal of WXP Collaboration. The Dashboard is displayed.

  2. From the left menu, select the Infrastructure tab. The existing list of systems are displayed. From there, you can verify whether the infrastructure is enabled for data collection.

  3. To enable the Production TCS shown below, click the Edit (pencil icon) button.

  4. On the Edit screen, change the Disabled toggle to the Enabled position.  You will then be prompted to confirm that you want to enable the infrastructure.

  5. Click OK to proceed.

After data collection is enabled for the infrastructure, it may take up to 48 hours for data to appear in Tech Insights Analytics. Historical data is processed once per day during the overnight processing window for your organization.

To stop WXP Collaboration from gathering data from an infrastructure:

  1. Log in to the Admin Portal of WXP Collaboration . The Dashboard is displayed.

  2. From the left menu, select Infrastructure. The supported systems list is displayed.

  3. Locate the system you want to disable by searching for its name or using the Edit option.

  4. At the top of the page, move the slider to disable data collection.

The system will then show as disabled both on the system details screen and in the infrastructure list.

Note: When an infrastructure is disabled, it remains visible in Tech Insights Monitoring. For more information about why Tech Insights Monitoring reports disabled systems as DOWN, refer to the article - Why Does Tech Insights Monitoring Report My Disabled System as "DOWN"?
