Measuring Adoption of a New Bridge Technology

Introduction

HP WXP Collaboration enables organizations to monitor the adoption and usage of collaboration technologies across the enterprise. Measuring the adoption of a new bridge technology provides visibility into usage patterns and rollout progress. This feature enables your IT admin to identify optimization needs.

The Adoption tab of Tech Insights Analytics with WXP Collaboration displays two bridge-related panels that populate automatically based on your native infrastructure:

  • Bridge Technology Usage Trend: Organizes meeting data by general technology using a common short name or acronym.

  • Bridge Usage Trend: Displays the same information as Bridge Technology Usage Trend using the full technology name.

Both panels present similar information, framed in slightly different ways. The graphs show usage trends over the selected time period. Hovering the mouse over a section of the graph shows the system type and the associated meeting minutes for that technology.

Creating a custom bridge usage panel

If you could not find the necessary information using the default panels, create a custom panel for deeper analysis.

  1. Log in to HP WXP Collaboration Application. The Dashboard is displayed.

  2. Go to Tech Insights Analytics and click Adoption tab.

  3. Click the +Add Panel link in the upper-right corner under the selected date range.

  4. Select the Panel Type as Trend .

  5. Choose the Category as Meetings.

  6. Select the Metric (Value) as Meeting Minutes.

  7. Group the results by System Type (Acronym).

  8. Apply a filter to include only meetings that used a bridge by setting the Meeting Type (Bridge/P2P) filter to Bridge.

This configuration excludes point-to-point calls and displays only meetings that used a bridging technology, organized by bridge type.

Note: To analyze meetings on a specific bridge, use the Systems dropdown and select the bridge you want to review. The panel updates automatically to reflect usage data for the selected bridge.
