Introduction
Manual enrollment using a company PIN provides you (IT administrators and HP Partners) with a flexible way to enroll individual Windows devices into the HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP). This method is useful when automatic enrollment is not possible or preferred. By running the HP Insights Windows Application installer (setup.exe) and entering a valid company PIN, devices can be securely enrolled.
This article provides a step-by-step guide to deploy the HP Insights Windows Application (also referred to as the Windows Agent) using a company PIN and the setup.exe installer:
1. Obtaining Company PIN
To obtain the company PIN:
Llog in to WXP. The Home page is displayed.
From the left menu of the platform, click Settings > Preferences. The Preferences tab is displayed.
On the Preferences tab, scroll to the Company PIN section to copy the pin.
For Partners: From partner login, click Customers > Companies > Company Details > Preferences. Partners can see the company details only after the customer has accepted the partner invitation.
Only computers running Windows 10 (Version 1809) or higher can be enrolled with the HP Insights Windows Application.
2. Downloading HP Insights Windows Application (Setup.exe)
To download:
Download Windows Agent from https://workforceexperience.hp.com/software. All HP applications are displayed.
Select HP Insights Windows Application. The Download app option is displayed.
Click the option Executable (.exe).
Ensure the contents of the HPInsights.exe (setup.exe) file are saved to an accessible location.
3. Enrolling Devices Using Company PIN
To manually enroll windows devices using the Company PIN:
From the download folder, run the setup.exe with an IT admin role to start the installation. The Enroll dialog box is displayed.
In the Enroll dialog box, click Next.
Select the checkbox “I accept the Terms and Conditions of the End User License Agreement.”
Click Install and follow through the instructons. A new window opens to initiate the enrollment process.
Click Yes to continue.
Click Enroll with PIN.
From the device owner dropdown, select either:
Company: If the computer is owned by a company. This selection enables all HP Insights data collection
Personal: If the computer is owned by a person. This selection will limit the data collection that HP Insights can collect, specifically with personal information, such as last signed-in user, software inventory, and location.
Click Next.
When prompted, enter the company PIN, then click Enroll.
When the enrollment confirmation window appears, click Agree. A popup is displayed with a success or failure message.
To verify enrolment, in the Windows System Tray, the HP Insights Windows Application will appear as enrolled.
