Introduction
Automatically enrolling Windows devices into the HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) streamlines device onboarding, ensures immediate visibility into device health and performance, and reduces manual setup effort. Enrollment is a prerequisite for the platform to begin collecting telemetry, applying policies, and enabling monitoring and analytics.
This article guides you to obtain the Company PIN and select the most suitable enrollment method for your environment.
Prerequisites
Devices must be connected to the internet to complete automatic enrollment.

Enrollment Methods for Windows Devices
Based on your deployment environment and IT infrastructure, choose one of the following methods to automatically enroll Windows devices into the Workforce Experience Platform:
-
CMD Batch Script (setup.exe): Ideal for small to medium environments or pilot rollouts. This method uses a simple
Install.cmd
batch script executed during device startup. It's a lightweight option that checks for the agent and runssetup.exe
from a shared location, commonly used with Group Policy or manual scripting. -
Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy (setup.exe): Best suited for enterprises that use on-premises Active Directory. This method leverages Group Policy Objects (GPO) to push and install the Windows Agent silently at device startup. It ensures consistent, domain-wide deployment and is recommended for centralized IT-managed environments.
-
Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (setup.exe): Recommended for large enterprises with SCCM infrastructure. This method enables IT administrators to package, schedule, and monitor deployment of the Windows agent across thousands of devices with fine-grained control.
-
Microsoft Intune (setup.exe): Designed for cloud-first or hybrid environments. This method uses Microsoft Intune to remotely push and manage agent installation on Azure AD-joined or hybrid-joined devices. It’s ideal for mobile workforces or organizations moving toward modern endpoint management.
