Enrolling PCs with HP Premium or Premium+ Support

Prev Next

HP Premium and Premium+ Support (formerly, Active Care) is powered by the HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP). This article offers help for WXP features that are unique to these services.

Eligible PCs purchased with HP Premium or Premium+ Support must have a registered Care Pack.

Care Packs

Ensure that all PCs with HP Premium or Premium+ Support have Care Packs that are registered. To verify, refer to this article.

Deploy the Windows Agent

The HP Insights Windows Application (Windows Agent) is required on all HP Premium or Premium+ Support devices.

  • For HP commercial PCs G10 or newer running Windows, the Agent installs automatically via Windows Update.
    • To find if it is installed, right-click the HP icon logo_HP_Electric_Blue_keyline tiny.jpg in the system tray.
      • If the status says Enrolled, your PC will generate predictive alerts for potential hardware issues and allow you to create warranty repair cases.
      • If the status does not say Enrolled or you cannot find the icon, download the HP Insights Health Checker, extract and run the .exe file, and click Run Scan. This utility will attempt to resolve issues and enroll your PC. If it cannot, it will provide additional instructions including how to open a support case with HP.
  • For HP commercial PCs that are G9 or older
    • Download the HP Insights Health Checker, extract and run the .exe file, and click Run Scan. This utility will attempt to resolve issues and enroll your PC. If it cannot, it will provide additional instructions including how to open a support case with HP.

Enrolling for large fleets using endpoint management tools

  • If you are managing larger fleets using endpoint tools, refer to these other articles for distributing HP Insights for Windows at scale.
  • Note: Enrolling a device using these methods will not add the HP Premium or Premium+ Support plan. The only way to add the plan is to first ensure your Care Pack is registered. See the section above called Care Packs.
