Obtaining the User Principal Name Domain Suffix

Introduction

To enable silent enrollment of domain-joined PCs, each device must have a valid User Principal Name (UPN). This is possible only when the correct domain suffix is configured in the portal. This article provides step-by-step guidance to obtain and add the required UPN domain suffixes.

Note: Domain-joined PCs require a valid UPN for silent enrollment. Non-domain-joined PCs can be silently enrolled without one.Obtaining the User Principal Name Domain Suffix

To get UPN suffixes for each domain or subdomain using a Windows computer:

  1. Log in to WXP. The Home page is displayed.

  2. From the left menu of the platform, click Settings > Preferences. The Preferences tab is displayed.

  3. In the Preferences tab, go the Domain Name section and click the pencil icon to edit and add.

  4. Add the UPN domain suffix. For example, if the UPN is [email protected], then add contoso.com

  5. In environments with multiple domains, repeat these steps on a device located in each domain or subdomain, and add the appropriate UPN suffix for that domain.
