Prerequisite

You must run WXP Collaboration Data Collector version 4.6.0 or later.

Steps to Add a Polycom DMA device

Step 1 - Set up Service Account for Poly Clariti Core / Polycom RealPresence Distributed Media Application (DMA)

Create a service account on Polycom DMA

Use administrator credentials to create and verify a service account on Polycom DMA. Follow these steps:

  2. Sign in with administrator credentials.
  3. Go to User > Users to open the User Administration panel.
  4. Select Add to add the required user service account.
  5. Enter the Name, User ID, and Password for the service account.
  6. On the Associated Roles tab, add the Administrator role.
  7. Select OK to create the account.
  8. Sign out of the Polycom DMA and sign back in with the new service account to verify the credentials.

Step 2 - Add a Polycom DMA Connector

To add a Polycom RMX Connector, you need:

  • Access to the FQDN/IP address of the DMA from the WXP Collaboration Data Collector
  • Port 8443 must be open between the WXP Collaboration Data Collector and the Polycom DMA
  • Credentials for the user service account on the Polycom DMA
  1. Sign in to the WXP Collaboration Admin Portal with your credentials.

  2. From the menu or icon, select Infrastructure > New Infrastructure.

  3. From the list of infrastructure types, click Polycom DMA.

Note

We recommend using the hostname instead of the IP address, because IP addresses may change. Use a friendly, descriptive name for the infrastructure to make it easier to identify.

  1. In Description, enter details such as device type, location, or other unique identifiers.
  2. In the Hostname/IP Address, enter the Polycom DMA hostname or IP address.
  3. Enter the administrator Username and Password.
  4. Select Save.
  5. After saving, the page displays two new buttons: Disabled (top) and Validate (bottom).
  6. Select Validate to confirm the collector can connect to the infrastructure. A pop-up window appears.

  1. If validation fails, select the Details arrow for more information (for example, invalid login credentials or network connection issues). Correct the problem and retry.
  2. When validation succeeds, click the Disabled button to the Enabled state to start monitoring and data collection.
