NEW: Teams Integration Procedure

Prerequisite

You must have Power BI Global Administrator role credentials for authorization purposes.

Part 1: Authorization of Teams Integration

  1. On the WXP Collaboration Admin portal, go to Microsoft Teams Integration page and open the MSTEAMS Authorization dropdown.
  2. Select CLICK TO AUTHORIZE and enter your credentials. You must have a Global Administrator role to authorize.

  1. In the Permissions window, click Accept. A new window opens. Close the window and refresh the MSTEAMS Authorization page.
  2. After refresh, the MSTEAMS Authorization section displays the Tenant ID and Authorization Token.

Part 2: PowerBI CQD Dataset Workspace Creation and Integration

  1. In app.powerbi.com, create a shared workspace. Suggested name: CQD-API.
  • From the URL, note the workspace (group) ID.
  • Ensure the workspace name includes “CQD.”

  1. Download MicrosoftCallQuality.pqx to your computer.

  2. Install the Power BI Desktop application.

  • Go to [Documents]\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors on the computer.
  • Create the folder if it does not exist.
  • Copy the downloaded MicrosoftCallQuality.pqx file into this folder.

  1. Open Power BI Desktop and sign in to your Power BI account.
  • You must be a Global Administrator to complete the next steps.
  • Use the user profile icon to sign in, sign out, or change the account.
  1. Download cqd-basic.pbix to your computer.

Double-click the file to open it in Power BI Desktop. Click OK on the warning message.

  1. On the File menu, select Options and settings, and then select Data source settings.
  • Select Microsoft Call Quality, and select Edit Permissions.

  • Review the Privacy Level. The default value is None. Make a note of the value.
  1. On the Home menu, select Publish.

  1. On the publish prompt, select the CQD-API workspace and continue to Publish.
  • Select Save if prompted.
  • Select Replace if a report or dataset already exists.
    You will get a success notification:

  1. After a successful publish, open the CQD-API workspace in app.powerbi.com.
  • The cqd-basic semantic model displays.
  • Hover over the item name, select the ellipsis (…), and select Settings.

  1. In Data source credentials, select Edit credentials.
  • Ensure the Privacy Level matches the Privacy Level noted earlier.

  1. Select Sign In and use Global Administrator credentials.

  1. A confirmation notification appears on the right top corner. The Failed to test connection message no longer appears in Data source credentials.

Part 3: Power BI CQD Integration with the WXP Collaboration Admin Portal

  1. Log in to WXP Collaboration.
  2. Go to Admin Portal > Infrastructure > MS Teams Integration.
  3. Open the PowerBI CQD Authorization dropdown, select CLICK TO AUTHORIZE, and enter your credentials. A new page opens.
  4. Return to the MS Teams Integration page.
  5. Confirm that all fields are populated.

  1. Validate that the Workspace ID matches the workspace ID captured earlier when creating the CQD-API workspace.
