Introduction
ARM-based Windows PCs continue to gain momentum across enterprise environments. Until now, HP Insights has run reliably on ARM-based Windows devices by leveraging the Windows operating system’s emulation layer. To further optimize performance and achieve further feature parity on ARM-based devices, a native ARM version of the HP Insights Agent was introduced in April 2026.
This article explains what’s changing and what actions (if any) are required.
What’s Changing
HP Insights now offers separate Windows agent packages for ARM and x86 platforms:
Native ARM version of the HP Insights Agent for ARM-based devices (Qualcomm)
x86 version of the HP Insights Agent for x86-based devices (Intel and AMD)
This ensures that each platform runs the agent best suited to its architecture.
Impact to Existing Deployments
No action is required for existing enrolled devices. ARM-based devices will automatically update to the native ARM version of the HP Insights Agent as part of the standard update process.
Guidance for New Deployments and Redeployments
For new device deployments, ensure that the correct agent package is used based on the device architecture:
ARM-based devices (Qualcomm): Use the ARM version of the HP Insights Agent
x86-based devices (Intel/AMD): Use the x86 version of the HP Insights Agent
Starting with HP Insights Windows Application version 5.26.13, separate download packages are available for each platform on the HP Insights software download page.
Platform Requirements
For ARM-based devices, the following requirements apply:
HP Insights Agent version: 5.26.13 or later
Operating system: Windows 11, version 24H2 or later
