Use Cases
Some of the popular use cases include:
Asset inventory management
Scenario: Your company wants to track all peripheral devices, such as displays, docks, and keyboards that are used across various locations without telemetry capabilities.
Solution: Use the Physical Assets feature to maintain an up-to-date inventory. It also supports filtering, sorting, and searching for assets based on serial number, location, or asset type. Additionally, it supports bulk actions to export the current asset list, update it in a CSV file, and re-import the file to apply changes in one go. This helps to reduce manual effort and saves time.
Auditing and reporting
Scenario: Your company wants to generate reports for specific asset categories, such as monitors deployed at a particular location, to meet compliance or audit requirements.
Solution: Filter the assets list to narrow down the devices of interest, then export the data to a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file. The exported data can be used for audit trails or for sharing it with stakeholders.
Warranty tracking
Scenario: Your company wants to monitor warranty periods for physical assets to ensure timely renewals or replacements.
Solution: Use the Warranty section in the Asset Details page to add or update the warranty period. Set the lifecycle statuses to track warranty expiry.
