By using a pre-configured script, IT administrators can automate the installation process and enroll devices into HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) by using a Company PIN. This method ensures consistency, reduces deployment time, and enables centralized management of enrolled devices. This article provides guidance for creating and using an `Install.CMD` batch script to enroll Windows devices with the WXP Insights agent. This method is ideal for users who want to automate deployment by configuring the script with specific parameters while using the provided Windows executable Single Installer (.exe) files. ### Target Audience **Primary audience**: - IT administrators and support personnel who set up and manage the platform (all roles) - HP Partners who manage customers using the platform **Secondary audience**: - Decision-makers such as Product Managers, Sales teams, and C-suite executives ### Prerequisites - You must have IT Administrator privileges. - Devices must be connected to the internet for automatic enrollment. > **Note**: Use alternative methods for devices that cannot connect to the internet. ## Procedure Follow the below steps to automatically enroll Windows devices: 1. [Obtain a Company PIN](https://learn.workforceexperience.hp.com/docs/deploy-using-ivanti#1-downloading-and-preparing-software) 2. [Create an Install.CMD batch script file](https://learn.workforceexperience.hp.com/docs/deploy-using-company-pin-with-batch-script#step-2-create-an-installcmd-batch-script-file) 3. [Run the `Install.CMD` script file](https://learn.workforceexperience.hp.com/docs/deploy-using-company-pin-with-batch-script#step-3-run-the-installcmd-script-file) ### Step 1: Obtaining a Company PIN To obtain a Company PIN: 1. Log in to WXP. The **Home** page is displayed. 2. From the left menu of WXP, click **Settings** > **Preferences**. The **Preferences** tab is displayed. 3. In the **Preferences** tab, scroll down to the **Company PIN** section and copy the Company PIN. For HP Partners, after accepting the partner invitation, go to WXP and select **Customers** > **Companies** > **Company Details** > **Preferences**. ### Step 2: Create an Install.CMD Batch Script File 1. Download the **WXP Insights agent** using setup method. 2. Download the sample batch script file [here](https://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/HP_DaaS/DaaS%20Client%20Scripts/GPO/Install/Install.zip). 3. Extract the **install.zip** file. 4. Place the `setup.exe` file, `setuparm.exe` file and `Install.CMD` batch script file in a location accessible by all networked computers. `Install.CMD` will detect target platform and install appropriate WXP Insights installer. > **Note**: > > 1. For WXP Insights agent version 5.26.114 onwards, the file names are updated as follows: > 1. `setup.exe` → `WXPInsights.exe` > 2. `setuparm.exe` → `WXPInsights-arm.exe` > 2. If you want to use any agent before 5.26.114, the `wxp-insights-installer-script` file that contains `WXPInsights.exe` and`WXPInsighs-arm.exe` must be changed to `setup.exe` and `setuparm.exe` . > 3. For version 5.26.63 (and prior version), download the scripts file from [here](https://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/HP_DaaS/DaaS%20Client%20Scripts/GPO/Install/Install%20%285.26.63%29.zip). > - The file includes `setup.exe` and `setuparm.exe` as the installer files. 5. Using a text editor, such as a Notepad, open the `Install.CMD` to display the following code in the body of the `Install.cmd` batch script file: 6. Replace **** with the location of the batch script file. - Refer to line 10 in the script set "SETUP_PATH=\\" /silent HIDETRAY=FALSE CPIN= 7. Replace the **** with the actual company PIN, without the angular brackets. - Refer to Line 4 of the script and Set "PIN_VALUE=" > **Note**: By default, the platform will enroll after auto-updating. To enable enrollment without auto-updating, add UPDATEBEFOREENROLL=0 to the code, like this: \Setup.exe /silent CPIN=XXXXX UPDATEBEFOREENROLL=0 **For devices that cannot connect to the internet** 1. Place the files on a USB drive by replacing **** with a local path, such as C:\Temp. 2. Save the `Install.CMD` file. > **Note**: Device enrollment will fail if network paths contain spaces in the file path. ### Step 3: Run the Install.CMD Script File 1. Browse to the location of the `Install.CMD` file, either in a network location accessible by all computers or on a USB drive for computers not connected to the network. 2. Right-click **Install.CMD > Run as administrator**. 3. Select **Yes**, if prompted for permission, to run the script to install the Windows and automatically enroll the device with the platform. 4. Wait for the installation to complete. If the installation is successful, you will see the device in the Windows System Tray provided **HIDETRAY** is set to `False`. ### Contact Us For any assistance, [create a support case](https://learn.workforceexperience.hp.com/docs/creating-a-support-case) or email `support@wxp.hp.com` . ## Related - [Overview of Automatic Enrollment of Devices](/overview-of-automatic-enrollment-of-devices.md)
